WHO WE ARE. (CULTURAL VALUES)
• Loving: We are a church marked by love for God and love for others.
So in all things, do what is in the eternal best interest of others—just as you would have them do for you. Such love is the central truth upon which the Scripture rests.
Matthew 7:12
Regarding life together and getting along with each other, you don’t need me to tell you what to do. You’re God-taught in these matters. Just love one another! You’re already good at it. Keep it up; get better and better at it.
1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 MSG
•Living: We are a church that is fully alive.
Jesus came to give us more life and a better life than we could ever dream of. The knowledge of good will provide counterfeits that look like Life. Those who can't tell the difference will settle for that.
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
John 10:10 NLT
•Leading: We are a church that equips, encourages and empowers believers to make a difference in people’s lives by developing their gifts, talents and abilities to their fullest potential for maximum impact in the world.
Those who want to be great among you must use their energies to serve, uplift, and bless the others.
Matthew 20:26
•Listening: We are a church that seeks to understand people’s hurts, habits and hang- ups and validates how people feel. We are full of compassion, sympathy, and empathy to a lost and hurting world.
Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law.
Galatians 6:1-2 The Message
• Learning: We are a church that is constantly growing and improving.
We actively pursue Optimizing Growth in order to do something or be someone at a higher level than we are currently, and we also embrace Healing Growth in order to effectively deal with personal baggage and brokenness.
So make wisdom your quest—search for the revelation of life’s meaning. Don’t let what I say go in one ear and out the other. Wisdom is the most valuable commodity—so buy it! Revelation knowledge is what you need—so invest in it!
Proverbs 4:5,7 TPT
• Laughing: We are a church full of joy, fun, peace, laughter and good times.
Laugh with your happy friends when they’re happy; share tears when they’re down. Romans 12:15 The Message
Everything seems to go wrong when you feel weak and depressed. But when you choose to be cheerful, every day will bring you more and more joy and fullness.
Proverbs 15:15 TPT
